Not long ago I couldn't have told you what in the world a blog was. As far as I knew, it was some funky new slang term kids had thought up. Maybe it had something to do with social networking sites such as Myspace.com or Facebook.com. But, then I spotted a detailed article online on "what is a web log or blog?" In no time I understood the fairly new-age concept that really blew up in 2005. Blogging is where it's at! Furthermore, you may have created a blog or two and not even knew you were doing it at the time. At this point I indulge in blog sites all the time. I like to keep up on all the latest technology , website marketing tips and how to make money online.

Millions of people are still asking the question, "what is blogging?" It's funny, but my own teenage daughter didn't know what this contemporary Internet writing was. Blogging is a form of communication or writing that you'll find on the web. It's like being a writer or newspaper columnist for your own newspaper.And the cool part is, anyone can create or respond to a blog. Just the other day I was searching through cyberspace for an answer to my recent problem with my lawn. My lawn was dried out and full of weeds and I wanted to know how get a really green lawn. Yeah, I'm sure plenty of people can relate to this. We live in an era of "do it yourself" everything"

There are even TV shows and websites contributing to this notion. So that's what I wanted to do. I purchased some Scotts Turf Builder fertilizer and started watering my lawn. Suddenly I found a wonderful blog about getting the greenest lawn in the neighbourhood. I was stoked! Someone like myself had started a blog and posed the question. Then several people answered with helpful blog replies. I ended up fertilizing my lawn four times this summer and have one of the greenest lawns I have seen without having to remove the whole lawn and reseeding. Talk about a great way to save some money as well!

At this point, you no longer have to ask the question "what is blogging?" It's simple writing on the Internet. You can start a blog on any topic you choose, and you can respond to any blog you find interesting or helopful. Try free websites like Blogger.com and begin blogging to earn a little extra money on the side if you choose as you can monetize your site with Google Adsense Ads. This cool website allows you to create blogs, place free Google ads on them, and earn ad revenue when web surfers click on the ads. Blogging is the way of the future! At the very least, you can acquire all sorts of new information and writing skills and comment on other people's blogs.

* Visit blogger.com or wordpress.com and setup a free user friendly account
* Next you want to name your blog and choose a look from one of the many blog sample templates available for you to choose from
* Create you new post with some information about yourself as your first post and mention that you will be updating your blog on a regular basis, write in your information and give your page a title, and then click on the add image button to add an image to your article if you choose to use an image
* Click publish post to send your article to the blog homepage or server, then click on View Site at the top of the page to see what your article looks like on your home page
* To look at previous posts login to your account and click on Manage and you will be able to see previous posts, which you can edit or delete posts you want to remove.
* Next syndicate your blog through an RSS feed which will let visitors to your blog subscribe to it and automatically get regular updates
